There are 2 main reasons for your design consultation.
Firstly, we will need to complete the following assessments and calculations at your home to ensure your heat pump upgrade works at the upper end of efficiency with the least disruption and cost possible:
- A full room-by-room heat loss assessment to determine the heat loss in each room of your home and calculation of current radiator power outputs.
- A full electrical survey and advise on any upgrades that may be required.
- A survey of the incoming water system to assess suitability for an unvented hot water cylinder.
- An augmented reality view of the heat pump so that you can see how it will look once it is installed.
- MCS 020 noise assessment to check that the proposed installation position of the heat pump will not be a nuisance to your neighbours.
Secondly, this process enables your Heat Geek to create designs for your home upgrade whether you choose to do this now or later and provides you with what work is required to price different options. The Heat Geek will work with you to determine your optimal balance between cost and payback. A lower temperature design realises a higher overall efficiency for example and so saves more money each year.
It is also a fantastic opportunity to speak to the best-trained Heat Geeks in the country in the specific context of your home. Your Heat Geek can address and answer any questions about heat pumps or your home decarbonisation journey in general.
This Design consultation results in the best performing heat pump systems which are around 50% more efficient than the average and reflected in performance charts such as the 3rd party system, Heat Pump Monitor. This is also backed up with our unique Heat Geek Performance Guarantee or heat geek installation guarantee.
