About Heat Pumps
I'm in as conservation area, can I get a heat pump?
If you live in a conservation area, you may need to apply for planning permission before upgrading to a heat pump. If you're in Scotland, the pump must be located on the ground floor and on the rear of the building. However, we can help you with this process and provide an initial estimate and Design Consultation.
Here are some things to keep in mind:
- The heat pump cannot be installed on a wall or roof that faces a highway.
- It must be at least 1m (3m in Wales) from the boundary of your property.
- It must pass a noise assessment so that it does not disturb your neighbours.
You can check out our noise assessment video to learn more.
Please note that it is your responsibility to obtain any necessary permissions before the installation can begin.
